We're still relishing summer, but here at Audi Burlingame we're also excited for the arrival of fall. Why? In case you haven't heard, Audi redesigned the Audi A8 full-size sedan for the 2019 model year, and it's set to arrive with a long list of features, including many new ones that are semi- or fully-autonomous!

Along with the sleek new lighting, here are some technologies we cannot wait to check out.

  • Adaptive Cruise Assist: this is a feature that's perfect for traffic jams and low-speed driving conditions, like construction or residential zones.
  • Intersection Assist: provides visual and audible alerts when you're backing up or when you're entering an intersection. If necessary, it'll also apply the brakes. As you may know, bumpers can be shockingly expensive to repair, and this feature protects both the front and the back.
  • Updated Audi MMI infotainment system: instead of using a gear to control the infotainment system, you'll now get the MMI Touch Response feature. Along with a split-view touchscreen, there's now also a way for you to add your top-five favorite icons to a side bar!

The following technologies will only be deployed in case of a collision. We hope they're ones you don't need to use, but we're glad they're available just in case.

  • Predictive Active Suspension: if the A8 senses an imminent crash, it can raise the suspension 3.1-inches in just half a second. This helps ensure the strongest parts of the Audi frame take on the force of a collision.
  • Emergency Assist: if you're unconscious after an accident, the A8 can sense this, stop the vehicle, put on the hazards, and make an SOS call to first responders! This is especially useful if you're on backroads that don't receive heavy traffic.

We love that Audi is pushing the tech limits, especially when it comes to keeping their passengers safe. Keep following our website and blog to learn more about the upcoming arrival of the redesigned 2019 Audi A8. It'll be here before you know it! In the meantime, shop our current new Audi selection.
